Privacy Policy — Pramanik OTT

Pramanik OTT (“the App”) is developed and maintained by Pramanik Samooh, a voluntary group dedicated to spreading the teachings of Muni Shri 108 Pramansagar Ji Maharaj. Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains what information the App collects, how it is used, and your rights.

1. Information We Collect

a) Information You Provide

  • Google Sign-In (Optional): If you choose to sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google. This is used solely to sync your preferences across devices.
  • TV Linking Code: If you link your TV using a QR code, we store a temporary session code to pair your devices. This is deleted after use.

b) Automatically Collected Information

  • Watch History: The App stores your video watch history and playback position locally on your device to enable “Continue Watching” and “Resume” features. This data is not sent to any server unless you explicitly sign in and choose to sync.
  • Firebase Analytics: We use Firebase for basic app functionality (Firestore database). Firebase may collect device identifiers and basic usage data as described in Google’s Firebase Privacy Policy.

c) Information We Do NOT Collect

  • Location data
  • Contacts or phone book
  • Photos, camera, or microphone access
  • SMS or call logs
  • Financial or payment information (UPI payments are handled entirely by your payment app)

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide personalized features like watch history and resume playback
  • To sync your preferences across devices (only if you sign in)
  • To display relevant content and notifications
  • To improve the App’s performance and user experience

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with any third party. The App does not contain any advertisements or third-party tracking.

Video content is streamed from YouTube. When you watch a video, your device communicates directly with YouTube’s servers, subject to Google’s Privacy Policy.

4. Data Storage and Security

  • Local data (watch history, preferences) is stored on your device and never leaves it unless you sign in.
  • Cloud data (if signed in) is stored in Google Firebase (Firestore) with encryption in transit and at rest.
  • We follow industry-standard security practices to protect your information.

5. Your Rights

  • Delete watch history: Go to Settings → Watch History → Clear History
  • Sign out: Go to Settings → Account → Sign Out (removes cloud sync)
  • Uninstall: Uninstalling the App removes all locally stored data
  • Request data deletion: Email us at gunayatan.org@gmail.com to request deletion of any cloud-stored data

6. Children’s Privacy

The App includes a “Jain Pathshala” section with educational content for children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The Pathshala section does not require sign-in and all content is freely accessible without providing any personal data.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
